Getting started

Who is GGAB App built for?

Badminton players and coaches who want to turn match footage into structured rally, shot, and outcome data they can review and train with.

What do I need to track my first match?

A match video you can upload, and a few minutes to set the game type and players. From there you can submit it for automatic tracking or tag shots yourself in the editor.

How should I record my matches?

Film in landscape (16:9) at 1080p or 720p, in one continuous take with no cuts, and keep both players in frame at least 90% of the time. 30 fps is fine and uploads faster than 60 fps. See the Recording Your Matches guide for the full checklist.

Does the app replace a coach?

No. It helps make review sessions more specific by tying feedback to tagged rallies, shots, outcomes, and patterns.

Tracking

What happens after I submit a match for automatic tracking?

Your project enters the tracking queue. While it is being processed, the editor shows the current status. When tracking is complete, reopen the project to review the data and finalize it.

What does it mean to finalize a project?

Finalizing marks a reviewed project as complete and ready for insights. Only finalized projects feed reliably into Performance Insights, so review the rallies and outcomes first.

What if my project is returned with an error?

Open the project and read the action-needed banner. Make the requested setup or tracking changes, then resubmit the project for review from the tracker editor.

Can I tag shots myself instead of using automatic tracking?

Yes. You can tag shots in the editor and let automatic tracking fill in the rest. This hybrid approach lowers the token cost of a project.

What's the best way to tag shots by hand?

Work in two passes. First, play the video and tap the player key (X for player 1, Z for player 2) right at each shuttle contact to time the shots. Then go back through and classify each shot's family, variant, and direction. The Manual Tracking guide covers the full workflow.

Tokens & billing

How do tokens work for automatic tracking?

GGAB estimates the cost from your saved match segments or video duration, places a token hold when you submit, and settles the final amount after the project is completed.

Why is my estimate different from the final cost?

The estimate is based on duration or segments before tracking runs. The final charge settles against what was actually tracked, and any unused part of the hold is released.

How do I lower my token cost for automatic tracking?

Two ways, and you can use both. Save tight segments in setup so you only pay for real play instead of warmup and breaks. And tag the shot timings yourself before submitting — then we charge by your shot count instead of video length, which cuts the cost to about half. See the Automatic Tracking and Tokens guide.

Insights

Why are my insights or charts empty?

Insights need eligible finalized projects. If a chart is empty, finalize more reviewed matches and return to the dashboard or Performance Insights. Larger samples make trends more reliable.

How is pro comparison data used?

Pro data appears only as standalone views or comparison series. It is never mixed into your own match data or pooled with your results.
