Track a Match for an Athlete
Upload an athlete's match from the coaches dashboard, mark the players, and have it tracked from your token pool. The finished match lands in their account.
When to use thisLink to this section
Your athletes can upload and track their own matches in the player app. Track a match yourself when you filmed it, when the athlete is a junior whose account you run, or when you just want it done.
You need an athlete who has accepted your invite, or one whose account you created. Open their page and press Track a match.
The three stepsLink to this section
1 · Pick a videoLink to this section
Choose a video you've already uploaded, or upload a new one. A new upload shows as Processing for a few minutes before you can use it. Press Refresh processing status to check.
Film it the way we describe in Recording Your Matches: landscape, one take, both players in frame. The whole video is tracked from here, so trim dead footage off the two ends on the Videos page first if there's a lot of it.
2 · Match detailsLink to this section
Fill in the Match title, the Match date (the day it was played), and the Game type. Name each player, set whether they're right or left-handed, and mark which one is your athlete. For doubles, say which team is nearest the camera.
3 · Mark the playersLink to this section
Scrub to a frame where everyone is clearly visible and draw a box around each player. Our trackers see these frames. They are how they know which player is your athlete, so take a moment to get a clean one.
Press Submit for tracking. If the button won't let you, a player is still missing a box.
Who owns whatLink to this section
- The video is yours. You uploaded it, so it lives in your video library.
- The match belongs to the athlete. Once it's tracked it lands in their account, and it feeds their dashboard, insights and trends like any match they tracked themselves.
- The tokens come from your pool. A match you submit does not count against that athlete's monthly cap.
If your pool is short, we tell you how many tokens the match needs and what you have. Top up from the player app under Account → Tokens. See Tracking and Tokens for what a match costs.
Changed your mind? On the athlete's Matches tab you can withdraw a match that hasn't been tracked yet, and the tokens come back.
Ask the assistant to set it upLink to this section
On an athlete's page you can also type "queue a match for tracking" into the question box. The assistant finds your unused uploads, settles the title, date, format and names with you in the chat, then hands you straight to step 3. Drawing the boxes is the one step that needs your eyes. See Analysis and the coach assistant.
