Repeating sessions

Make a session repeat every week or every few weeks, delete one or the whole series, and set the days you usually train.

Updated

There are two kinds of repeating training in GGAB:

  • A repeating session is one you plan and set to repeat, like a club night every Tuesday.
  • Your weekly schedule is the days you usually train. GGAB keeps a planned session on each of them, four weeks ahead.

Make a session repeatLink to this section

Repeat is part of planning a session, so it only appears for a session in the future.

On the website, click New session, set a future date and time, and the Repeat section appears. In the app, go to Training → Plans, tap +, then Plan a session. Repeat is under the time.

Set it up the same way on both:

  1. Repeats every sets the gap: every week, or up to every 8 weeks.
  2. Tick the days it happens on. The days run Sunday to Saturday, one per row, with a checkmark on each day you pick. Tap a day again to clear it.
  3. Under Ends, choose Never, On a date, or After a number of times.

No days ticked means it doesn't repeat. There's no separate on/off switch.

The days you tick don't have to include the day you're planning it on. Plan it on a Tuesday, tick Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and you get all three every week.

All of these work:

  • Every week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • Every 2 weeks on Tuesday and Thursday
  • Every 3 weeks on Saturday

GGAB says it back in plain words, such as "Every 2 weeks on Monday and Thursday", under the picker and at the top of every session in the series.

The date you picked anchors the pattern. "Every 2 weeks" counts from that week, so the same rule started a week later lands on the other weeks.

Delete one or allLink to this section

Deleting a repeating session asks what you mean, the way a calendar does. Open the session and tap Delete session:

WebsiteAppWhat it removes
This sessionThis sessionJust that one. The rest carry on.
This and everything afterThis and afterEnds the series from that date. Earlier ones stay.
The whole seriesWhole seriesEvery upcoming session, and it stops repeating.

Two kinds of session are always kept, whichever you choose: sessions in the past, and any where you've set goals or written a reflection. They stop repeating but stay on your calendar as ordinary sessions.

A deleted session stays deleted. If you cancel one Thursday, that Thursday stays cancelled. GGAB only fills in weeks it hasn't filled before.

Change a repeating sessionLink to this section

There's no way to edit the days of a repeating session you've already made. Delete it with This and everything after, then plan it again with the new days.

Or ask GGAB in the chat: "Move my Tuesday sessions to Wednesday". It shows the change as a suggestion, and nothing moves until you tap Apply. See The training assistant.

Your weekly scheduleLink to this section

When you set up the app, it asks When do you usually train? GGAB puts a planned session on each of those days, four weeks ahead, and keeps filling in as the weeks go by.

On the websiteLink to this section

  1. Open any repeating session and click Edit schedule, next to the line that says how it repeats.
  2. On Recurring Schedule, under Your usual training days, tap the days you train.
  3. For each day, pick a start time (or No set time) and give it a title. Remove takes a day off.
  4. Click Save schedule.

Turn off stops the weekly schedule altogether.

Edit schedule shows on every repeating session, but this page only holds your usual days. A session you set to repeat yourself isn't listed there. To change one of those, see Change a repeating session.

In the appLink to this section

  1. Go to Training → Plans, tap +, then Weekly schedule.
  2. Under Days you train, tap the days.
  3. Give each day a time with Add a time, if you want one.
  4. Tap Save schedule.

Turn off weekly schedule stops it, after you confirm.

What saving changesLink to this section

Saving replaces your days. Sessions it added from today on that you haven't touched are cleared, and the new days are filled in for the next four weeks.

Past sessions are kept, and so is any session you've set goals on or reflected on.

You can also ask GGAB: "Book me in every Tuesday and Thursday evening", or "Stop putting training on my calendar".
